Programming higher platelet yields for plateletpheresis donations can compensate for losses during pathogen reduction technology (PRT) processing. Both Amicus and Trima apheresis devices are suitable for this, with Amicus showing better efficiency and collection rates.

- While PLT aggregation can occur, it largely resolves by day 1 post-collection.
- Further research is warranted to determine the clinical implications of post-apheresis PLT aggregation.
