When T cells with CD4 markers are activated, they give rise to two types of effector cells: helper T cells and regulatory T cells. Summary

Interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β) drives intervertebral disc degeneration (IDD) by promoting inflammation and matrix breakdown. Inhibiting IL-1β may aid in extracellular matrix repair and disc regeneration for low back pain treatment.
