  • Basal cell adenocarcinoma (BCA) is a rare salivary gland neoplasm.
  • Laryngeal involvement by BCA is exceptionally uncommon.
  • The subglottis is a previously unreported laryngeal subsite for this tumor.

Observation:

  • An 89-year-old female presented with a subglottic mass.
  • Histopathological examination confirmed basal cell adenocarcinoma.
  • The patient underwent surgical management for the laryngeal neoplasm.

Findings:

  • The subglottic basal cell adenocarcinoma was successfully excised.
  • The patient achieved a disease-free status 29 months post-surgery.
  • This represents the first reported case of subglottic basal cell adenocarcinoma.

Implications:

  • Highlights the importance of considering rare tumors in laryngeal diagnostics.
  • Demonstrates the efficacy of surgical intervention for subglottic BCA.
  • Adds to the understanding of BCA presentation and management in unusual locations.
