Abstract:
For maternal and fetal safety, active seizure disorders require treatment during pregnancy. Since all anticonvulsant medications have been implicated in teratogenesis, an obvious clinical dilemma exists. For maximal safety, the minimal effective dose of a single drug should be used. With careful management, over 90 per cent of patients can expect a healthy child.
