The psychological treatment of eating disorders

There has been a considerable increase in the incidence of eating disorders. This has stimulated research into a variety of therapeutic options. This article examines the psychological treatments currently available, the theories underpinning them and the evidence supporting their use. Where possible the treatments are evaluated separately for anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa.
