    Summary

This study introduces a novel spatial exploration method for image color sensation analysis, inspired by termite behavior. The new approach uses an energy function to guide image exploration, offering a valid alternative to existing methods.

    Area of Science:

    • Computer Vision
    • Image Processing
    • Computational Neuroscience

    Background:

    • Human color sensation is influenced by spatial color arrangements.
    • Accurate color rendition requires identifying a white reference within an image.
    • Existing algorithms like Termite Retinex explore images to find this reference.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To develop a novel spatial exploration scheme for image color analysis.
    • To improve the efficiency and relevance of image exploration for white reference detection.
    • To investigate the spatial properties of human color sensation using computational models.

    Main Methods:

    • Developed a new spatial exploration algorithm based on an energy function.
    • Termite paths are defined as local minimums of this energy function.
