Abstract:
The past 5 years have witnessed an explosion in the amount of published clinical trial data for the use of intravenous thrombolytic therapy for acute myocardial infarction. This article reviews the properties of the various agents, the experiences of each in prospective, randomized clinical trials, and the future directions of thrombolytic intervention.
