Metformin use in type 2 diabetes patients was not significantly linked to obstructive sleep apnea. However, lower Hemoglobin A1c levels were associated with reduced obstructive sleep apnea prevalence.

- Metformin therapy might enhance sleep quality, but not necessarily by reducing the risk of developing obstructive sleep apnea.
- Further research is warranted to establish a causal relationship regarding metformin and OSA prevalence.
