[Two rare case report of maxillary sinus foreign body]

Background:

Observation:

• Two rare cases of foreign bodies in the maxillary sinus are presented: a pulp needle and a loach.
• Clinical manifestations observed included facial numbness, paresthesia, swelling, nasal congestion, facial pain, eye discomfort, and limited mouth opening.
• Recurrence of symptoms was also noted in some cases.

Findings:

• Computed Tomography (CT) scans are valuable diagnostic tools for identifying foreign bodies in the maxillary sinus.
• Detailed medical history is essential for accurate diagnosis.
• The study highlights the importance of recognizing the varied clinical presentations of sinus foreign bodies.

Implications:

• Functional endoscopic surgery is identified as the primary treatment of choice for maxillary sinus foreign bodies.
• Early diagnosis and surgical intervention can prevent complications and improve patient outcomes.
• This case report contributes to understanding rare presentations of foreign bodies in the maxillary sinus and their management.
