Abstract:
A common peripheral abnormality, which I call "microdehiscence," can in some cases cause the progressive central astigmatism that commonly follows penetrating keratoplasty. The results of a small clinical study show that placing additional suture(s) in this situation can permanently correct such astigmatism.
