A 48-month evaluation of fissure sealing with a diluted composite material

Abstract:
The idea of pit and fissure sealing has found wide acceptance in caries prevention. The present investigation evaluates the retention of a diluted composite material (Concise Enamel Bond System) used as a pit and fissure sealant. On the basis of a clinical evaluation in 63 children of the retention of the material for 48 months, it seems justified to assume that a diluted composite material is a fully acceptable alternative to other fissure-sealing materials.
