- Longer duration of fixed orthodontic appliance treatment correlated positively with EARR development (P < 0.05).

- Individual SNPs in the studied genes were not confirmed as risk factors for EARR in the Czech population.
- Variability in the P2RX7 gene and extended orthodontic treatment duration are suggested as contributing factors to postorthodontic EARR.
- Further investigation into complex genetic and environmental interactions is warranted.
