Autologous stem cell-based therapy for sickle cell leg ulcer: a pilot study

Bone marrow mononuclear cell (BMMC) implantation is a safe and feasible treatment for sickle cell leg ulcers (SCLU). This therapy showed significant pain improvement and some ulcer healing in a pilot study.
