Abstract:
An ex-boxer once attacked a nurse with ferocity. Matron Vimla Sharma remembers it well because the victim was a colleague of hers. The man punched the female nurse round the head and body and only calmed down when police arrived. The nurse was badly injured physically and emotionally by the attack and brought a private prosecution against the man. Ms Sharma does not know if the nurse won, but she does know that the woman was so traumatised she never nursed again.
