    Abstract:

    Stroke is associated with many symptoms, including fatigue, physical and cognitive disability, pain, psychological distress and fear of death. Post-stroke depression affects approximately one third of people who have had a stroke but it is not clear whether this is due to biological issues related to damage to the brain or to psychosocial issues.
