Missed retinal breaks in rhegmatogenous retinal detachment

Missed retinal breaks (MRBs) are common in rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD), especially in pseudophakic patients. Careful screening for MRBs is crucial in patients with retinal bullae or advanced proliferative vitreoretinopathy (PVR).

- PVD is associated with retinal bullae and pseudophakia, and inversely correlated with traumatic RRD.
