    Summary

    Epidemiological analysis from 1940-1987 revealed a decline in tick-borne encephalitis (TBE) but maintained severe clinical courses. New TBE foci were identified, particularly in dark coniferous forests, with low virus carriership in Ixodes mites noted in the Maritime Territory.
