A steep peripheral ring in irregular cornea topography, real or an instrument error?

Corneal topography red zones after myopic laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) may be instrument error, not always increased corneal curvature. This study suggests plotting algorithm artifacts can create these visual discrepancies.
