Summary
Breast carcinosarcoma is a rare cancer, found in less than 1% of primary breast malignancies. This rare tumor requires consideration in diagnosing patients presenting with large breast masses.

- A 59-year-old postmenopausal woman presented with bloody nipple discharge and a palpable left breast mass.
- Initial excision revealed a 2x1 cm mass, with subsequent pathological examination confirming breast carcinosarcoma.
Findings:
- A modified radical mastectomy was performed for a 4x4x3.5 cm tumor.
- Tumor cells tested negative for estrogen and progesterone receptors, and C-erb-B2 (HER2) was also negative.
- No metastasis was found in the axillary lymph nodes.
Implications:
- Breast carcinosarcoma, though rare, should be included in the differential diagnosis for patients presenting with large breast masses.
- The distinct pathological features and receptor status (ER, PR, HER2 negative) of this case provide valuable data for understanding this rare entity.
