CD177+ neutrophils as functionally activated neutrophils negatively regulate IBD

CD177+ neutrophils are increased in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and possess enhanced bacterial defense mechanisms. These neutrophils play a protective role in IBD by improving gut immunity and barrier function.
