Serum osteopontin and vitronectin levels in systemic sclerosis

Serum osteopontin levels are elevated in systemic sclerosis (SSc) and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) due to inflammation, not fibrosis. However, vitronectin levels decrease in SSc, potentially due to accumulation in fibrotic areas.
