Purpose of the Study:

  • To present the initial experience with robotic single-port hysterectomy in Brazil.
  • To assess the safety and feasibility of this technique in a Brazilian hospital setting.

Main Methods:

  • A series of 11 patients indicated for robotic single-port hysterectomy were reviewed.
  • Nine patients underwent the procedure using the da Vinci Single-Site® platform.
  • Two patients required conversion to multiportal robotic surgery due to complex anatomy; no complications were reported.

  • All nine robotic single-port hysterectomies were completed successfully without intraoperative complications.
  • Indications included adenomyosis, uterine myoma, endometrial cancer, and other gynecological conditions.
  • No patients required blood transfusion, conversion to laparotomy, or intensive care unit transfer.

  • Robotic single-port hysterectomy is a feasible and safe surgical option for selected gynecological procedures.
  • This technique shows promise for elective hysterectomies and other gynecological surgeries.
  • Further randomized controlled trials are necessary to establish its superiority over conventional laparoscopy.
