Nitric oxide mediates antimicrobial peptide gene expression by activating eicosanoid signaling

Nitric oxide (NO) and eicosanoids are key immune mediators in insects. This study reveals NO signals through eicosanoids to induce antimicrobial peptide (AMP) gene expression in Spodoptera exigua.
