  • Most videos (83.4%) promoted PrEP, but only 35.9% detailed how to obtain it.
  • Less than a third of videos discussed costs, side effects, or safety; media videos were more likely to cover costs.

Conclusions:

  • YouTube serves as a viable channel for disseminating accurate pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) information.
  • Further investigation is required to establish best practices for leveraging YouTube to enhance PrEP awareness and adoption.
