Nanoparticle assisted laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry (NPs-ALDI-MS) offers enhanced sensitivity and selectivity for analyzing small molecules in complex samples. This review highlights progress in using various nanoparticles for improved laser-based mass spectrometry applications.
