Rheumatic heart disease in Timor-Leste school students: an echocardiography-based prevalence study

Rheumatic heart disease (RHD) is highly prevalent in Timor-Leste school children, with rates significantly higher in girls. Early diagnosis and community-supported penicillin prophylaxis are crucial for managing this condition.
