Enterovirus infections in pediatric hematologic/oncologic patients

Enterovirus (EV) infections are rare in pediatric cancer patients, typically showing no symptoms. Most patients clear EV RNA, indicating a low clinical impact in this vulnerable population.

- Enterovirus infections are uncommon and asymptomatic in this pediatric cohort.
- EV RNA detection can be inconsistent between specimens from the same patient.
- Enterovirus infections appear to have a minimal clinical impact on pediatric hematologic/oncologic patients.
