This study presents a novel method for lignin oxidation using 2,3-dichloro-5,6-dicyano-1,4-benzoquinone (DDQ) to produce valuable aromatic monomers. The new approach significantly enhances yield and selectivity, overcoming limitations of previous lignin degradation methods.
