[Pathophysiology of secondary testicular dysfunction]

This review summarizes the most important forms of secondary testicular dysfunctions. The gonads are controlled by overlapping regulation systems. Disturbances within these systems possibly lead to gonadal dysfunction. Physicians should be aware of factors that might have a pathogenic effect on gonadal functions, because only then is it possible to prevent infertility.
