Background:

Cutaneous warts pose treatment challenges due to recurrence and multiplicity.
Intralesional immunotherapy is increasingly used for recurrent warts, showing efficacy in clearing distant lesions and preventing recurrence.

Purpose of the Study:

To evaluate the efficacy and safety of intralesional bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG) vaccine immunotherapy.
To assess BCG vaccine's effectiveness in treating recurrent multiple extragenital warts.

Main Methods:

40 adult patients with multiple recurrent warts received intralesional BCG vaccine injections.
Injections were administered into the largest wart at 3-week intervals for up to three sessions.
Patients were monitored for 3 months post-treatment to assess clearance and recurrence.

Complete lesion clearance was achieved in 73.53% of patients, with partial clearance in 23.53%.
