When atoms gain or lose electrons to achieve a more stable electron configuration they form ions. Ionic bonds are electrostatic attractions between ions with opposite charges. Partner support and engagement with fetal movements protect the mother-child bond. Postnatal depressive symptoms and higher maternal education pose risks. Promoting prenatal bonding is crucial for healthy child development.
