Canine parvoviral enteritis (PVE) significantly alters the gut microbiota in puppies, reducing microbial diversity. Canine parvovirus (CPV) infection leads to an overgrowth of Proteobacteria and a decrease in beneficial bacteria like Prevotella and Lactobacillus.
