Nicotinamide nucleotide transhydrogenase (NNT) shows a gender-specific role in multiple sclerosis (MS) pathogenesis, with altered expression observed in older males. NNT and NNT-antisense 1 (NNT-AS1) expression correlated with age and sex in MS patients and controls.
