Summary

Systemic azithromycin (AZM) shows a beneficial effect in reducing cyclosporine A (CsA)-mediated gingival overgrowth (GO). This finding suggests AZM may be an alternative to surgical interventions for GO.

Systematic Endobronchial Ultrasound - The Six Landmarks Approach

Endobronchial ultrasound-guided sampling using transbronchial needle aspiration plays a key role in staging and diagnosing lung cancer. We propose a systematic stepwise approach dividing the procedure into six landmarks that should be taught to new operators.

Isolation, Processing and Analysis of Murine Gingival Cells09:47

Isolation, Processing and Analysis of Murine Gingival Cells

This study describes an efficient technique to isolate and process gingival tissues from the mouse oral cavity in order to produce a single-cell culture. The resulting cells can be further used for flow cytometry analysis and molecular...

Isolation and Culture of Primary Human Gingival Epithelial Cells using Y-27632

Here we present a modified method for the isolation and culture of human gingival epithelial cells by adding the Rock inhibitor, Y-27632, to the traditional method. This method is easier, less time-consuming, enhances stem cell properties, and produces larger numbers of high-potential epithelial cells both for the laboratory and for clinical...

In statistics, several tools are used to interpret the data. Measures of central tendency represent the characteristics of the data, such as mean, median, and mode. Additionally, measures of variance like standard deviation and range are used to find the spread of data from the mean. Relative standing measures the distance between data locations. Commonly used measures of relative standings are percentile, z score, and quartiles.
Percentiles are a type of fractile that partition data into...

Data are individual items of information obtained from a population or sample. Data may be classified as qualitative (categorical), quantitative continuous, or quantitative discrete. Because it is not practical to measure the entire population in a study, researchers use samples to represent the population. A random sample is a representative group from the population chosen by using a method that gives each individual in the population an equal chance of being included in the sample. Random...

Isolation of Gingival Immune Cell Network from Murine Teeth Blocks

This video demonstrates the isolation procedure of the gingival immune cell network from a mouse model. The enzymatic digestion releases the gingival tissue from the attached teeth and bone, which is further mechanically digested, releasing immune cells from the gingiva. The isolated cells are ready for immunological...
