Summary

Gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) folate-receptor 1 (FOLR1) levels were elevated in periodontitis and gingivitis patients, but serum FOLR1 did not differ. GCF FOLR1 correlated with bleeding on probing, suggesting it may not be a reliable marker for periodontal disease monitoring.
