Comparing Contemporary Commercial and Classical Styles: Emotion Expression in Singing

Vocal expression of emotions in singing differs between contemporary commercial music (CCM) and classical styles. Sound pressure level (SPL) is the only common acoustic correlate of emotion expression across both genres, with CCM allowing more vocal freedom.
