Researchers developed a novel method for synthesizing atomically-thin, two-dimensional (2D) gold nanosheets in water at room temperature. These ultrathin gold nanomaterials exhibit exceptional catalytic and peroxidase-mimicking activities for sensitive hydrogen peroxide detection.
