SOME CLINICAL, NEUROLOGICAL AND NEUROPSYCHOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF PATIENTS WITH CHRONIC KIDNEY DISEASE

The goal of the research is to specify the nervous system impairment clinical, neurological and neuropsychological characteristics in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD). A fragment of 61 chronic kidney patients, aged 52±2.43, complete examination is presented. The examination included a detailed clinical and neurological check-up, neuropsychological (evaluating the trait and state anxiety levels by applying the Spielberger State-Trait Anxiety Inventory), laboratory (identifying the parameters of electrolytic balance, nitrogen metabolism, autoimmune markers of brain and kidney tissue injury) and instrumental examinations (nephrosonography, brain MRI, electroneuromyography). Thus, having examined the patients with CKD in detail, we detected the signs of a nervous system disorder in all the patients, polyneuropathy - in 74% of patients, autonomic nervous system tone disorder, neuropsychological status change, in particular, the increased state anxiety level - in 42% of patients. At the detailed examination of the patients with CKD there were identified the impairments in the structures of both the central and peripheral parts of the nervous system, as well as the autonomic nervous system and certain neuropsychological makers. Taking into account the fact that CKD is polyetiologic, and the neurological symptoms manifest themselves early in the course of the disease, as well as the disability, caused by the pathology, is high, we consider studying clinical, neurological and neuropsychological characteristics in patients with CKD to optimize the algorithm for early detection of this pathology.
