Transabdominal ultrasound is a cost-effective tool for detecting common bile duct (CBD) stones, showing 76.9% accuracy. This non-invasive method aids in diagnosing choledocholithiasis, especially in initial assessments.

- Choledocholithiasis, or gallstones in the common bile duct (CBD), affects an estimated 5-20% of patients undergoing cholecystectomy.
- Transabdominal ultrasound (US) is a primary imaging modality for gallstone disease symptoms.
- The exact incidence and prevalence of choledocholithiasis remain undetermined.
Purpose of the Study:
- To validate the diagnostic accuracy of transabdominal ultrasound for detecting choledocholithiasis.
- To compare ultrasound findings with Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) as the gold standard.
