Experience in field rabies control programs

The Tunisian experience in a recent field rabies control program is described. The Tunisian program emphasizes control of rabies in dogs, the essential source of virus for other animals and humans. The different phases of this program to reduce and eliminate canine rabies by systematic vaccination of accessible dogs and removal of other dogs are described, recent results are presented, and future plans are discussed in light of these results.
