Summary

Patients with diencephalic amnesia (Korsakoff syndrome) showed frontal lobe deficits on the Wisconsin Card Sorting Test (WCST), while those with medial temporal lobe amnesia did not. This suggests distinct frontal dysfunction patterns in different amnesia types.
