Potential Differences between Local and Systemic Allergic Rhinitis Induced by Birch Pollen.

This study found no mechanistic differences between local allergic rhinitis (LAR) and systemic allergic rhinitis (SAR) in birch-allergic patients. Further research is needed to understand the distinct pathomechanisms of these rhinitis endotypes.

Conclusions:
- The study found no distinct immunological mechanisms to differentiate LAR from SAR in birch-allergic individuals.
- Current data do not support unique pathomechanisms for LAR compared to SAR.
