Abstract:
Respiratory disorders are present in at least 40% of patients with the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) and are the commonest mode of presentation. Lung pathology ranges from infections, both opportunistic and non-opportunistic, to Kaposi's sarcoma and lymphoid interstitial pneumonia. AIDS-related lung problems must increasingly be considered in the differential diagnosis of the breathless patient.
