Molecular characteristics of colorectal hyperplastic polyp subgroups

- Hyperplastic polyps, regardless of size, are precancerous lesions with distinct molecular profiles.
- Goblet-rich HPs are associated with KRAS mutations, while MVHPs and MPHPs show BRAF mutations.
- Morphological subtyping of HPs is recommended to alert gastroenterologists to their precancerous potential.
