  • Chondroblastoma, a rare benign tumor originating from immature cartilage cells, typically affects long bone epiphyses.
  • Temporal bone chondroblastomas are exceptionally rare, though they can exhibit aggressive local invasion and metastasis.

Observation:

  • A 31-year-old male presented with a painless left temporal swelling and hearing loss.
  • Imaging revealed an aggressive extradural mass in the left temporal mastoid region with bone erosion and superior displacement of the temporal lobe.

Findings:

  • The patient underwent complete surgical excision of the temporal bone tumor.
  • Histopathological diagnosis confirmed chondroblastoma.

Implications:

  • Temporal bone chondroblastoma, despite its rarity, presents an aggressive clinical course.
  • Complete tumor resection through an optimized surgical approach is crucial for favorable patient outcomes.
