Summary
Choroidal nevi, benign eye lesions, can exhibit internal cavitations, likely due to necrosis. Enhanced depth imaging optical coherence tomography (EDI-OCT) can visualize these features and track their changes over time.
Area of Science:
- Ophthalmology
- Medical Imaging
Background:
- Choroidal nevi are common benign pigmented lesions in the eye.
- Intralesional cavitations within choroidal nevi are an uncommon finding.
