Summary

Endoscopic ultrasound-guided pelvic abscess drainage (EUS-PAD) is a safe and effective alternative to surgery. This procedure demonstrates high rates of technical and clinical success for pelvic abscess treatment.

Background:

  • Pelvic abscesses often require invasive drainage procedures.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To systematically review and perform a meta-analysis on the safety and efficacy of EUS-PAD.
  • Evaluate the technical success, clinical success, and adverse events associated with EUS-PAD.

  • Comprehensive literature search of multiple databases (PubMed, EMBASE, SCOPUS, etc.) up to February 2020.
