Abstract:
Exosomes are nanoscale vesicles released from different-type cells. Exosomes carry a large number of functional proteins and nucleic acids, which can exert their biological functions by interacting with target cells. As a kind of important immune cells, B cells can release a large number of major histocompatibility complex II (MHC II)-positive exosomes upon activation, which play a significant role in antigen presentation. Moreover, adoptive transfer of murine B cell-derived exosomes can induce a potent T cell immune response in vivo. However, exosomes released from overactive B cells can also promote the progression of autoimmune diseases.
