Platelets Do Not Alter Flow-Mediated Dilation or Arterial Conduction in vivo

This study found that reducing circulating platelets did not affect iliac artery dilation or vascular conductance in pigs. Platelets do not appear to influence shear stress or blood flow regulation in this vascular bed.

Conclusions:
- Platelets do not appear to contribute to shear stress-mediated vasodilation or vascular conductance in the pig iliac vascular bed in vivo.
