The Mediterranean diet (MedDiet) significantly reduced the incidence of abnormal white blood cell counts, including leukopenia and severe leukopenia, in individuals at high cardiovascular risk. High adherence to MedDiet also lowered leukocytosis risk and its association with mortality.
